Someone emailed me that they checked into Tokuda in the early morning, and waited a whole day to start the proceedure. Is that true?
I don't think I could handle the anxiety...ready to have some of that vodka already.

Hi folks - Burg we go 25 June and its creeping up on me just hope this blasted volcanic ash cloud gives us a break. It has reared its ugly head again and a few airports in the UK have been closed today. There were airports closing over other parts of Europe last week like Spain. It's very unpredictable at the moment just keep everything crossed for luck!! We are staying at the hospital hotel and then have booked into the Greenville hotel for the last couple of days.

AK - I hope you keep improving!! Now that I know they go in through your hip I keep thinking I'm going to have a massive spasm when they do too! That's if I am lucky enough to have a blockage! I've prayed for a lot of things in my life but I never thought I'd be praying for my veins to be blocked!!

Sofia - I hope you keep improving you sound as though you have had some good results and it is early days for you! Maybe you'll just wake up tomorrow and the vertigo will have disappeared. Baby steps your body is adjusting itself. Good luck!

Also..does anyone know the easiest airline from JFK in New York City? Least walking between terminals in Europe??
Do they give valium, or something like that before the procedure...I'm really nervous...crazy...right??
burg just went through Frankfurt airport and found that if you specify that you need wheelchair assistance with the airline when you make your reservations they are extremely accommodating. I flew Delta from JFK my last trip over and they had a chair for me at the ticket counter when I arrived to check in then they took me down the ramp and onto the plane where the flight attendants helped me to my seat. Once in Frankfurt a chair was waiting for me in which they took me through immigration, got my luggage and out to the car even though my fiancee was there to help me.

On this trip I did the same thing but had to fly out of Atlanta and Delta had the same accommodations for me. I fly to Bulgaria tomorrow on Lufthansa and requested a wheelchair. I will be posting once I return to Germany on May 26th.

Good luck

AK ....
Hi
We are also in Regina and scheduled to go to Bulgaria in July. My husband and I would not mind discussing this with you sometime before we go?
Did you have any issues with doctors here getting reports needed for Bulgaria?

thanks

We are arriving at hotel hospital 2 days before appointment so as to not take any chances. We will then stay at Greenville a few days afterwards -again, just in case.
We are quite anxious and although 2 months away from the date we find ourselves counting down the days.
Thanks to everyone who has posted as you have given us great comfort by your description of what we can expect.
Please keep sharing.

Hi RobSandra,

Same here - super anxious as well... I'm in Toronto and scheduled for end of July? Are you around this timeframe as well?

Deep breaths

This is my first post so go easy on the rookie. I will be traveling to Bulgaria for the procedure which is scheduled to happen on July 21st. I have been reading so many articles and posts that I think I'm done but having had this disease for about 18 years now, I can tell you that I am so excited about the possibility of actually having some of my life back that I can't stop reading. I have been following this site for about a month now and am truly floored by all of the positive results. Though there have been a few less than stellar results, it seems that overall the outcome has been positive. My systems are similar to pinksapphire's. I have the pain and tingling and imbalance. I do not have cold hands and feet. In the last 2-3 years my stability has started to falter as has my ability to walk for much more than 30-40 feet without stopping due to pain. My spasticity is pretty bad too so I find myself stopping to stretch throughout the day all the time. The tingling is becomes burning and cramping in the feet and legs. I am married with 2 beautiful young girls so I know this takes a huge toll on them too. I just cannot fathom what it would be like to go for a walk with them or even dream of walking at or girls weddings. You all know what I'm talking about if you have had this disease for any amount of time. I started with RR but over the years I guess its morphed into SP though. Thats a pretty tough pill to swallow too. Anyways, its getting to closer to take off and we have now booked our flights... so I am another who will be going in 9 1/2 weeks from Toronto and will definitely be reading anything and everything that you good people have to post. Thanks for all of your invaluable info and great luck to all.
