A woman I know with MS has told me that the main effect of her MS is burning all over. She wears prescription pain patches every day.

I have had one spot of burning.

Thanks for posting. He recommends Ceylon cinnamon (cinnamonum verum) rather than cassia cinnamon.

I'm going to start supplementing with Ceylon cinnamon, 3 grams per day. It might not help, but I don't think it can hurt.

maynaka,

Are you following Terry Wahls' diet? I haven't bought her book (too much $ for me right now) but am following some of her recommendations.

jgkarob,

I'm eating close to a paleolithic diet now. I'd love to have the link to the paleo recipes.

Thanks.

Sphingomyelin (Sphingolin) supplementation?

Has anyone tried taking supplements of sphingomyelin, also known as sphingolin? Does anyone have any information on its helpfulness?

Thank you.

I haven't read the book, but I just went to the website. She talks about avoiding junk food, taking supplements, and detoxing. Her website just struck me as too slick, all the "limited time offer" stuff. And the price is rather high for e-books. She recommends information from Dr Rudolph Cartwright....

Thank you for the responses. The insurance that we just got is not through an employer. We have no employer. :( My question is about getting a different insurance company after diagnosis. Since dh is unemployed, we wouldn't be going through a corporate plan. Do I really need disability and life insu...

Jimmylegs,

Can you elaborate on the glutamine - glutamate connection, or direct us to the information.

I'm confused about that.

Thanks.

Please help with Health Insurance questions

We just got new health insurance. It's expensive and it doesn't cover much of anything. I have not yet been diagnosed with MS. Will it be difficult or impossible for me to get new insurance after diagnosis? If my husband gets a new job and we get health insurance through the company, what happens if...

Jimmylegs, I've read a lot of your posts and am glad to have your input as well. Terry Wahls seems to advise strict adherence, which makes sense to me, because if something is bad for you, even a little would be bad. But on the other hand, maybe increasing the good things can help to balance out the...

Thanks for all the replies. It was my understanding that the diet is kind of an "all or nothing" situation, that you have to make a commitment to follow it absolutely, otherwise you're negating the effect by occasionally eating the forbidden foods. I gave up sugar and grains over a year ago, but I'm...
