Re: holly

Oh! Please do not interpret my post in any way as concluding anyone, either you Holly, or Karen, is at fault for anything!! I will move on, but felt compelled to at least say here that I in no way intended for anyone to get the idea that anyone was at fault for what seemed to me to be a natural thi...

Re: aac

On the insurance thing: I contacted Karen Moran to see if she has all my insurance info I had sent in a few weeks ago, and she did not, said she would send me stuff again thru email that I have to send her....so if you have not heard anything from AAC and sent all your stuff in you might want to ca...

Will you be the one performing the procedure or Dr. S?

Try and snag an extra catheter setup for your in-home follow-up! :)

GOOD LUCK!!!!!!!!!!

(Actually neither of them know it yet, but I've arranged for Cece to scrub in and check Dr. S for stenoses... )

Re: Appointment Notice?

Holly, I happened upon Dr. Sclafani's post on the American Thanksgiving Day that he was recommencing practice and immediately sent a request for a "date" with him! A couple of weeks later I applied to AAC as well. (as Chicago is closer) Is this "way too soon" to expect a reply f...

Re: AAC costs

Anti-coagulants, and also pre-procedure bloodwork to determine things like serum creatinine levels are not. This is important to be aware of - the anticoagulant Arixtra is expensive and it's an additional out of pocket expense. Quite valid, Cece! The Arixtra can be something like $3K! However we ha...

Re: AAC costs

Is the $7500 for everything? No hidden fees, you walk in pay $7500 and get the procedure and walk out. Who prescribes the blood thinner? So, for those that are having/have had a 2nd procedure with Dr. Sclafani, is it $10K as well? And that includes everything? Or is it less for subsequent procedure...

Cece, I haven't contacted you about your insurance previously, before your question here, because there still is time for your insurance to clear! (And if not we'll reschedu...

So, for those that are having/have had a 2nd procedure with Dr. Sclafani, is it $10K as well? And that includes everything? Or is it less for subsequent procedures? Or does it depend whether Dr. Sclafani did the first procedure himself? Does anyone know if all the doctors in the AAC network are cha...

Quick, someone snatch up the 11th or 12th! Those are a Tuesday and a Wednesday, not the usual M/F/S. Dear Holly, I know you are perhaps toxically overworked (!) and in dire need of that assistant. The status of my insurance company must be low on the list of priorities and I don't think you have an...

This amused me, it's from TripAdvisor, "Brooklyn Forum: Best airport to use to get to Park Slope." Each airport was suggested a few times, no real consensus, but maybe it depends on if you're taking a taxi or the subway. http://tinyurl.com/36hhxue I_Hate_MS, you'll have to verify with Hol...

Just confirming that, yes, if you go with Dr. Sclafani in Brooklyn Medicare is accepted.
