berries are nice in Poland

Post by berriesarenice »

I had better quick start a thread. I am in Katowice, lying in the hospital bed, hooked up to an IV. Dr. Simka just did our Doppler Ultrasounds, and there are 3-4 patients in front of me for the procedure. Time is running out to record my "before" symptoms, so here goes...

Before:
Fatigue, very bad
Numbness all over
Migraine headaches
Brain fog
Memory loss
Trouble finding words
Balance loss
Clumsiness (drop things)
Blurry vision when tired
Weak legs when tired

The Doppler showed a large right IJV (normal is 7 mm, mine is about 20) due, he thinks, to a malfunctioning valve. He thinks they'll need a big stent (although I'm still hoping for balloon) and my left side had reflux, but that's all I know.

I hope to report back soon :)

Thank you, thank you for the well wishes and prayers. Just out w/ a ballooned valve in the right IJV, a ballooned left IJV which was very narrow with three especially tight spots (he recommended a stent, but I opted out--not sure if that was the right call?), and finally a stent in the azygos which was so narrow that the catheter could barely fit through, and was getting no drainage. I got to see that amazing shot of blood suddenly flowing through as soon as the stent was in.
This has been such a gift.

Thank you again for all you kind words.

I guess I'd better rest a bit now.
