HELP ME!!!
HELP ME!!!
Hello,
My name is Anna and I write down 'Italy.
My boyfriend, federico 25 years, was suffering from multiple sclerosis and RR is treated with monthly injections of Tysabri.
The method works, but side effects are devastating.
Frederick wanted to submit to examination for the diagnosis of CCSVI in Poland.
In Italy, currently the headquarters mother of this great discovery of Dr. Paolo Zamboni, is blocked by bureaucratic practices.
In practice, the waiting lists are long and only for examining Echo color Doppler is expected to wait a minimum of 2 years.
It 's absurd to think of a waiting so long for a disease that degenerates rapidly.
I moved from Italy to diagnose in Poland, but not know who to contact to get information about the protocol to be followed and waiting times.
Can you help me?
We are desperate!
Thanks, Anna
I apologize for the language, but nn speak English. Translate with Google!

Ameds have now opened new web site today and you need to fill in registration form- basic info.
Following on from my recent telephone conversation with Ameds they were happy to announce they have Neuro guys working with them when I asked how they managed this .... reply was they were invited and they kindly accepted .
As I understood it - Ameds are one of the approved research outfits and all treatments and data will be shared as part of the CCSVI global research.
Regards

I dont think that Ameds is actually participating in CCSVI global research.silverbirch wrote: As I understood it - Ameds are one of the approved research outfits and all treatments and data will be shared as part of the CCSVI global research.
As I see it, it is a clinic set up by someone who saw a great business opportunity, a niche (which I belive is not a bad thing) as liberation treatments are not cunducted in many places all over the world.
Or maybe I am wrong

Mila,
I think they are.
Here's what's on their site and I had a friend speak to Marcin and he eluded to that as well.
-------------
We are interested in implementing innovative therapies as well as in developing scientific research to allow objective valuation of their effectiveness. We would like also to be active in the process of improving existing therapy techniques through an experience exchange with other centers in Europe and all over the world.

Annad,
I know that their new website is up, I got an e-mail from them because I was earlier registered with them, however in the meantime I got a date of my liberation procedure with Euromedic in Katowice (just 1 week from now ) and this is much cheaper option for me, although I live in Warsaw so Ameds is closer. Besides Katowice staff are most experienced ones at the moment.
But coming back to Ameds, I was really stunned when I saw their pricelist. Diagnosis itself costs over PLN 4000 and from my calculation it should not exceed PLN 1500 (I live in Poland and I always go to private clinics with all my health issues so I know the prices of ultrasouns, MRV, and neurologists in private clinics here). That is why my assumption was that Ameds is a business set up purely for profit reasons and mostly for foreign customers because not many people in Poland can afford such a treatment at their own expense.
Once again, I see no problem with this kind of approach, demand creates prices here, that is how it works.

Then you say is better to wait for answers directly from Kattowic?
All centers where I addressed in any case I have presented the first list and then illustrated the method .... but happy to see my boyfriend is not interested in this to me ... the important that doctors are Experts in method ...
or not?

Mila,
Congratulations on getting in sooner. . . feeling better sooner is better than later.
I cannot comment on the price list as I have yet to see it. I was under the impression it would be close to that of Euromedic.
As for it catering to foreign people, I know most of us don't have that money sitting in our bank accounts either. I know many of us are going into our savings, fundraising, borrowing and having family members help out with the cost. You're right, supply and demand.
I've always said that I'd give an arm and a leg to feel better. I'm being put to that test now. I may look quite funny once this is all said and done.
best wishes

From what I read on this forum and also on Polish forums Katowice are fully booked till the end of this year (maybe even next) and they are so overwhelmed with e-mails from potential new patients that it takes thm a long time to replay those e-mails. On the other hand Ameds is just starting so probably waiting list is not that long yet and it might be smart to register with them.
As for experience in conducting liberation procedure Katowice is probably the most experienced place in the world right now (over 200 people). They started last october/november and are doing those procedures since then.
Ameds has no experience whatsoever but it might change very fast with every patient they will treat. From what I read on Ameds website none of the doctors there is from Katowice crew but I guess they are experienced angiologists and vascular surgeons and since it is not a difficult procedure, I am sure they will be able to perform it successfully.
I am just hoping that Poland will not "bend the knee" in front of big pharma in the end and that those private clinics will be still allowed to perform this liberation procedure.
Annad
I dont know what is Ameds price list for foreign visitors and how it compares to Euromedic (we dont pay for accomodation and transport arrangements). All I can tell is that at the moment for Polish patients the difference is approximately PLN 4500 (1500 $) in favor of Euromedic
