Oh yes, I'm here. Thank you for checking on me. I've been without internet since my return from Poland, and Blackberry is awkward for a report that does justice to my condition. I feel amazing, amazing, amazing! I have been running around with my children (I have six) all day, every day since I've been back...the park, hiking, the pond, the farm. I was always able to walk, but the fatigue was so bad I used to lie down at 1:00pm, and be in bed until the next morning. Sometimes I'd join the family for dinner, but usually not. Now I make the dinner.
I don't have words to explain the difference this has made. It feels like I had been swinging a 10x weighted bat...through mud.
Now I find myself taking the stairs, two at a time, and racing my kids across the yard. I jumped on the trampoline with them. I'll give more detail when I'm back on line, but so far, this is way beyond what I imagined. I am so grateful to all of you who were brave enough to go through with this procedure when the establishment was saying to wait, to those of you who educated and gave your testimonies and your encouragement. I didn't fully believe what a difference this would make until I experienced it for myself.

Thank you, thank you to all of you!

Berries

Fantastic & encouraging to read your log playing with the children was my favourite bit xx

Now I’m going to sound like a child with all my questions apologies xxx

I’m expecting to hear my dates from Ameds within the next 20 days although booked for UK in July

Given that you have been treated with stents did they send you away with do's & don’ts?

Stents – I’m under the impression that MRI can not be preformed? Then how do they monitor brain lesions?

Do you also continue with DMD

Kindest regards

Silverbirch,

I don't think stents are a problem for the MRI, I can't explain exactly why though. The one I got is supposed to be a combo of several different metals, and I've heard that this is helpful, but someone else out there can explain why.
Regarding DMD, I am stopping mine, but I know many have decided to continue with theirs, so there is no hard and fast answer there.

Best of luck w/ your upcoming procedure!

My 8-year-old daughter just handed me her observations, written in red crayon:

"It is so much more fun now that mom has had her surgery done, and is back from Poland. She even acts nicer! On our way back from picking up mom and dad from the airport I could tell by her behavior.
She took us to the park, and she never takes us to the park!"

Well, add "liberation procedure makes people nicer" to the list. ;)

Thanks berriesarenice. I hope my son thinks I'm nicer after I'm freed. Poor kid, I have not taken him anywhere in months.
My name is not really Johnson. MSed up since 1993

Berries!!!!!!!!!!!
Congratulations on feeling better already!!
I am so happy for you to feel the relief. ;)
Yes, you can have MRI after the stents are placed.
My 6 week follow up MRI/MRV was the same as the screening MRI/MRV before procedure.
So, I guess the material of the stent is MRI OK.
Please keep posting!
Sincerely,
Rose ;)
