Post by Brightspot »

Wanting to confirm where and what time the protest next week in Vancouver, calling for CCSVI screening.

The date is May 5th. We will be ready!!

I have heard various times and two venues.

Lets make an effort to stand together on this. Please post what you have heard.

I think we should meet at the Art Gallery as City Hall makes no sense at all. It is not just a protest for Vancouver but for the whole Lower Mainland. Why should someone from Burnaby etc. come to Vancouver City Hall? The Art Gallery is a venue for regional protests.

As to time, I've heard only 10:00 AM. Seems a bit early but I can make it.

The Fed government just announced today a loan of 550 million for
the state of Michigan to help construct the replacement bridge project
that Detroit City would not approve because of lack of funds. Maybe
we could get 1 million for Dr Haake's critical research?!?

I will second the request that someone who is active in the facebook community please confirm their plans.

I believe that it is important for us to make a united and LARGE demonstration of our determination to have this matter addressed, so we should all be in the same place, at the same time.

I would love to start providing those I know who support our cause, with the details.

It appears it is too late to shift gears this time so City Hall it is. I saw that it is planned from 11:00 - 2:00 and I'll post again if I hear anything different. At least it is across the street from Canada Diagnostic Centre - the place that is refusing to scan on the advice of the MS Society.

Thanks for your posts everyone.

Looks like I will be attending the protest on Parliament Hill instead of the one in Vancouver.

There will be a parliamentary subcommittee meeting on Thursday morning regarding CCSVI.

Members of the public are able to make written submissions to the Neurological subcommittee on health, and I would encourage you to write to them about your experience of being denied appropriate vascular medical care on the basis that you have Multiple Sclerosis.

the locations are legislative buildings across canada, since vancouver doesn't have one, City Hall is the next best thing.

i have formal paper petitions for federal and provincial govts and have found an MP to table the federal petition. each province will need to find an MLA.

if you'd like them, please send me your email address so i can send them as attachments.

i'd like to submit bc's and all the federal petitions in 3 weeks.

thanks,

Update on the May 5th protest? Anyone know how the meetings went? Also, does anyone know if they are doing any vascular pre-screening for MS patients anywhere in Vancouver?

Thanks.
