got a Doppler scan yesterday, probably didn't ask enough questions at the scan but the official report came through today. Can anyone tell me the situation - normally I'm good on medical jargon but the whole venous arena is a bit of a mystery to me until now

What is particularly of concern to me is wondering if this report indicates I have wider than normal IJV's or non-operational valves - that is what I suspect the scanning technician was hinting at yesterday, and that reminds me of Rici's case in Poland.Flow within the left internal jugular vein (IJV) is relatively diminished
compared with that on the right side. The valve seen at the IJV-innominate
junction is immobile on the left side, with failure of complete collapse in the erect
position and relatively limited internal jugular venous distention in the supine
position. Both vertebral veins are widely patent with increased flow
demonstrated on the right side.
Finally I have an open-minded GP who will be discussing this with me next week I hope, so not venturing forward until I know the proper situation.
