Once upon a time in the Yukon
Two men were digging in the hills. One man, Zam dug up 95 nuggets of Gold in a day. He told his friend Ziv who rushed to the hills and began digging. He dug up 55 nuggets in day. A wise old man standing watching them said ‘See that proves there is no gold in them hills. It’s a hoax!’
but the old wise man was diggin in an other mountain, and with his 18 partners he looked for silver nuggets, and despite one of his partners died, he continue to say that his mountain is full of silver, and there is no gold in the other mountain...
in the same time, on the other side of the ocean, in kuwait,
someone dig in the middle of the desert and find 95 gold nuggets, so he decided to give a shovel to everyone in his country, for free!!

Another very wise man named dak showed up with his shovel and some sophisticated scaffolding... He found gold nearly everywhere he dug. With the scaffolding he was able to keep the gold mines open where zam's closed up half the time, in which he had to re-dig.
The pompus land owners, who were very neglectful and took little interest in the land, except for collecting large sums of lease money, were furious of the tresspassers and proclaimed "fools" gold... Stay off my land - your going to hurt it... They suddenly became "protective" of the land.. and quickly tried to oust them..
News of the "gold rush" could not be stifled and began to spread like wildfire... the land owners were overcome with prospectors. They quickly found out that they in fact did not "own" exclusive rights to the property...

... in fact, a very cool guy named Schell had become aware of the gold (via some unconventional research) several decades earlier. However, he was unable to stake a claim as the man and his cronies stubbornly fought this, muttering about "squatter's rights", and stating that unconventional diggers were not wanted there.
Well, this did not stop other unconventional diggers and doers from eventually arriving from far and wide. Zam and Ziv, and Dak with his scaffolding were also joined by Simkan-do, Sclanfan-tastic, Haacke-awesompics, Salvi-fixurveins, Bonn-bonjovial, Mehtafixedya and many others who very much enjoyed thinking and digging outside of the box.
Word of their excellent and exciting results spread and they also decided to share their ideas, results and expertise with each other. They became a rather formidable force of their own, and were soon able to stake and make their own claims....

... so they (the land owners) tried to scare people away by telling them that digging with shovels bears unknown risks and that it is unproven that shovels are the right instruments for digging... at least for gold, as shovels were used for digging for silver for many years. They claimed that there have to be rigorous blinded trials with placebo shovels to assess if shovels work on digging for gold. To the question how on earth a blinded man with a placebo shovel could sham digg and not realising this they had no answer, but still they demanded it.

If the diggers put their ear to the ground, they could hear the gold, calling out, "Dig me up! Please, have mercy, do not delay! How would you feel if you were underground and could not move or breathe?" and the diggers felt a stirring in their hearts and they dug all the faster. And the landowners saw this and they were afraid. So they surrounded each digger with a committee, and the committee took the shovel back and measured it and debated it and took notes on just how precisely the gold would be lifted from the earth and if the gold would be in any way at risk by being brought from the cold and the dark into the warmth of the sun.
