Mila, I sincerely hope no one else has been hurt and that things return to normal for the people of Poland soon! We have dealt with fires here, we have 2 now out of control pushing people from their homes. It can be so devastating to see your homes threatened.

Thanx Brenda,
Since I am from Warsaw, I wasn't flooded yet but the wave on the river is moving north now and tomorrow it will reach Warsaw, so we will see tomorrow if there will be some devastations here.
Krakow and Silesia region on the other hand are getting better since flood wave already passed them. So guys dont worry about your trips to Poland.

Pre-testing

Post by StentorKate »

I also did not have any pretesting done. It would have cost airfare to and from and $2350.00 in Vancouver to have it done - without any guarantees that they knew what they were doing (at the time - this was before Simka's visit) I contacted Dr. K. and he said they'd have to do it all again, so I just flew to Poland. Although there was no stenosis, I had some valve problems and the angioplasty took care of that. Dr. K. has also developed some new protocols - mainly to do with the research project he is carrying out, so even if you had all the info from Canada, he's do the testing again.

I agee re: testing in canada first. Thought it would be a waste of money. They found valve problems? That was the big issue with a friend Christopher and Dr. Simka fixed that with angio as well, now he's walking without his sticks. That seems to be a major cause of problems for us.

I don't know, I know they don't want things to go badly, if there is an unexpected complication...do you have insurance that covers out of country?

Does anyone have a list of Polish phrases that would help at the clinic and hotels? I noticed someone was working on that.
My spouse has had MS since 91.
We are leaving for Tychy June 25th from Winnipeg. I'm not good with languages so a card I could print up and point to might make it easier for both parties.

I think fiddler was working on a list, and I think I copied it here somewhere. Also I have a friend who is polish and she promised to help with one. I was also worried about pronunciation but I think I will take some of these phrases printed out so I can at least point to what I'm trying to say.

Thanks for the list. Here are a few I googled. One with sound so you can hear the phrase.

My husband and I will be going with another couple (husband has MS) to see Dr. Kostecki. From reading this post, it seems we will be there at the same time as many others. We are flying out on June 24 and returning on July 4. We wish to thank all those who have posted about their trip and procedure. It's thanks to this forum that we decided to make the trip to get liberated!

Sue
Diagnosed in 1986 - was RRMS now SPMS.
