CCSVI in Bulgaria
Hi Daisy3
How are you doing! Essential Health Clinic wasn't up and running though we knew that Dr Gilhooly was going to be starting the facility to scan for blockages etc. We emailed the same but never got a reply ( I can only imagine the guys inbox!) At the same time this came up for Bulgaria so we just pursued with this one but if all goes well it will be great to know in the future that I have the facility on my door step.
Village Maid - Hiya mrs we stay in East Kilbride.

Hi everyone
I received notification of my appointment for June 3 in Sofia and have been like a child at christmas. I sent my travel information to Dr. Grodzinski and the tour company and both confirmed back to me. I did not get any more emails though like those mentioned in this thread. I hope there is nothing to worry about. I had an MRV at Westmount a couple of weeks ago and I seem to have two twisted garden hoses for jugulars. Odd to be happy about confirming a congenital deformity. I had RRMS for 20 years since my early 20's which is strange for a male. It is secondary progressive now and accellerating. I never put any faith in the quack cures we have head of from time to time but CCSVI is different. Thank you all for sharing your stories and wish me luck.
PS: I am still on the fence regarding stents. DOes anyone have any positive or negative comment regarding stents in Bulgaria specifically. My brother is an ortho surgeon and he says that the success of surgery has little to do with the hospital or facilities and comes down to the skill of the surgeon. Without that it is doomed to fail.

Hi M Duffy - or Michael I guess! Thats great you're going to get sorted soon and at least you know you have twisted veins. I won't know until I get there so I keep everything crossed. If you read back from a few weeks ago there was something said about stents. Someone was comparing the stents that they use in Poland to the ones that they use in Bulgaria. There have been no problems so far in Poland. I think in Bulgaria one problem but you will need to read back to make sure. From memory the stents used were made from different materials the Bulgarian one being made with tin and with something else. There was also some debate of the fact that the stent is placed in a vein as opposed to an artery. Have a read back!

Hey Michael,
I agree with you about "acting like a child at Christmas" As I always say, "it's better than winning the lottery"
Sounds like you're from Montreal?? I'm from Montreal(Laval.) I, too had an MRV done at Westmount, but nothing
I'll be in Sofia on June 6th, procedure on the 7th. Staying at the Greenville.
Hope to meet to you
Anna

Village maid - I meant to say it's probably a good idea to break up your flight. It is a long one from Vancouver and you want to be at your best when you get to Sofia considering the jet lag too!.We are okay. We stop overnight in London just because that's where the Bulgaria flight is from and it only takes an hour to get there and a couple of hours to Bulgaria.

Man....I'm on the wrong coast of Canada.
It's SOOOO expensive. I'm going to have to look around. I've been trying to find flight info online and I'm having the devil of a time.
Wondering where I should fly to for a layover before continuing on to Bulgaria.

Any ideas? I could fly from Kelowna to Toronto or Halifax on September the 6th and stay overnight at a hotel...then continue on to Sofia on the 7th..stay overnight and be admitted into the hopital on the 8th.
How did everyone book flights? By yourself online or through a travel agent?

We are flying from Regina -Calgary to Frankfurt and then Sofia. I would think Vancouver to Calgary-Frankfurt-Sofia be virtually the same cost which was found by us the cheapest flights? We are with Lufthansa airlines.Villagemaid wrote:Man....I'm on the wrong coast of Canada.
