I wish....
All said and done it was $2800. per person.
BUT...we were booking late because the date came up so quickly, but if we waited much longer the flights would have been $3800. Each.
Not much a person can do about it when it's crunch time...

I booked back at the end of March for two people it's costing me around 2200$ with Air France.. and that was bought say 2 months in advance, plus i'm doing a stop... I don't remember when your leaving but I'm assuming that it all depends if your leaving during the busy season.. Since i'll be leaving later on today I don't think it's very busy this time of the year...

cheaper airlines like wizzair.com, easyjet.com ans dome others fly from some other cities in europe. so if you are able to get a cheap flight to rome, or barcelona, london or anywhere else on their destination list you might be able to get a cheap connection to sofia.
if you make a search for sofiaairport you see all airlines serviceing sofia. if it is alot cheaper to fly into places like athens, belgrade or other places not to far away there is both trains and buses to catch, for a very reasonable price.
Takes a bit more googeling, but should be fully possible to find alternatives. all depending on what price you come up with on your first options. We ended up with an alternative rout just to make sure we would avoid the volcanic ash. we ended up doing a 4-5 hour taxi journey, and that could be done for 80€, cold possibly get it cheaper if you haggeled.

Sofia is a bit on the outskirts of europe, and not a very popular destination for bussiness or pleasure, this is refelcted in the airline prices.

So, in your humble opinion......do you think it would be wise to book flights through Geya Tours?

I found return airfare from Toronto to Sofia that was $1200 including all taxes on Bulgaria Air......good price. I'm sure with all the sales Westjet has it would be comparable to get a direct flight from Kelowna to Toronto.

Hi Village maid

You sound as if you are having a time of it there with the pricing but you're last price sounded much better. It pays to shop around - you'll get there! You mentioned Kelowna before I'm sure I've been there before is that 'peach country'?

Hi Koko & Villagemaid:

I'm new to this thread, find your posts very useful, Thank you

Been surfing for Air fares found I can go from Penticton (Peach City) to Vcr,then direct to Mntrl on Air Cda for $700 / per. return, then catch a Air Fran. flight at 8 pm to Sofia (via Paris) for $942 / per. return. Now all I need is an e-mail from Dr. G with a procedure Date.

Thx again

Yes that's taxes in, u can go to www.Aircanada.com & AirFrance.com
The further down the calander the cheaper the flight is. I used Sept 20/10 guessing it could be around then ?

I'm waiting for a reply from my e-mail to Dr. G to get on his list or a date
