I'm not sure but I may have made our stay too short as my wifes day of hospitalization is the 22'nd and I have us flying out early on the 25'th. I went with what Geya tours said is typical but that only leaves 1 day for recovery before leaving. Is it worth trying to reschedule our flights for?

I guess I'll take my chances and leave it as is then...
I see a few of you guys have mentioned having to back after a while...I'm assuming that was their recommendation? and for what purpose? I wasn't really planning on spending another $5600. to go back after this (unless there is complications).
What gives?

For those who are wondering for the time.. I arrived on the 31st and hospitalized on the 1st of June. I just got my release date for today at 11h30.. which is June 3rd. my date of departure was for the 6th. but I was able to pay a price of 168 euros per person to change my date for tomorrow.. as for going back in 6 months it `s really for a check up to see if all is going well and like myself I have a critical vein that is only unblocked at 50% so if I need to have the operation done again but this time change my mind and add the stents then I could. I asked how much it would cost the 2nd time around and he said it was 50% of the price. I just paid the operation and it cost 4908.40 euros.. so it gives you an idea what to expect. There are the additonal amount as we used the hotel hospital and the food plus the meds to bring home.. which isn`t that much more. Hope this information will help you !

Hi everyone

I arrived in Sofia yesterday and stayed at Greenville. It is a nice hotel and they speak good english. I came to the hospital and was admitted this morning. I brought my MRV and CT Scan with me as well as a letter from my GP. I did not tell my Neuro that I was coming because I was not in the mood for an argument.

Dr. Grodzinski is a very pleasant man who leaves one with the impression that he and the other staff definitely know what they are doing. They took a medical history and did a physical exam blood test and EKG as well as the Doppler Ultrasound. The Doppler showed stenosis for me on both sides consistent with the MRV result I got from Westmount. The room is a standard hospital room (plus the heated toilet seat). I have my surgery tomorrow and to this point the various things that I might have worried about such as the travel, the city and the hospital have proven to be no problem at all. Geya was on time at the airport and everything has been fantastic. Even the internet connection is fairly fast.

One problem is my blackberry has a sim card that is not compatible with the Bulgarian system. I would recommend that you check with your povider well in advance to see if your phone will work as you may need to change phones to get one compatible with the specific type of cell network here. Also power conversion requires an adapter but most computers and video cameras will work on 110 to 240 so a power inverter may not be required. I forgot to bring an adapter but they rounded one up for me which was above and beyone the call of duty. I wil send a report after my surgery. This is very exciting to say the least.

Good luck Mcduffy tomorrow ! I know it will be successful.. as per Greenville hotel I actually had the chance to go to the resturant tonight to eat there and boy was it good and hot. we were even able to buy a bottle of wine and bring it back to the hospital so that me and one of the CCSVI friend`s could celebrate our liberation... to do it over again and knowing how close by to the hospital it is also how well this operation is done.. I would have went with Greenville Hotel all the way... I guess I`ll have to wait for my next appointment to book there..

Hi everyone,

There are two of us here supposed to receive treatment today and two more for tomorrow. It is 5:54 and neither of today's patients has gone in. With the language barrier it is difficult to understand what is happening but we are preped for surgery and they say we will go down. In speaking with a few who have already been done I remain positive that thisw will be a worthwhile exercize. The closer the time gets to surgery the slower the minutes seem to go. Waiting feels like when I was a kid at christmas and told to stay in my room until my parents were up. There is something I want just outside that door and I really want it to open. I must be patient.
