Poland is great, just the jet lag is so hard to deal with. There is another couple that came yesterday and I think 3 more coming today. I forgot to take my pholish phrases with me, it's a good idea to have!

Here is a website of the Arena Hotel. I'm posting the english link but if it does not work, just click on the second icon in the right hand corner.

I don't seem to be getting all my topic updates so sorry I didn't answer sooner, one thing, if you have to take a taxi, don't pronounce the hotel arena as in hockey arena....more like a ren a but no worries they are excellent at making sure you are picked up. Nice hotel, great food, great staff, no worries ....oh yeah...another of our group came tonight, feels like family week :)

Im in Poland too, got in late last night. I gotta say that in all my years of travel Ive never had such an annoying flight. Sure Ive done 36 hour milk runds across asia, and been bounced from my seat becuse the company oversold (up to first class) but to get to Frankfurt and learn after waiting 3 hrs that my connecting flight has been cancelled, and the only other flight to krakowice, later in the night is cancelled too, was annoying. Lufthansa just got under my skin with their germanic arrogance...
We got a milk run through Venice and finally to Krakow, but jeesh. I paid a lot extra to avoid this hassle. Ah well.
Feels good to be here. Nice place. Friendly people. The Arena hotel is fine. Maybe the walls are a little thin, but hey..in lots of the world insulation isnt really used. And whispering in the hallways isnt on either.

I slept. Took almost 24 hrs to get here, and it should have been 12. Sleep on planes doesnt happen for me, so that felt great.

the problem with those polish words I learned on the plane was I needed some kind of way to figure out how to pronounce them. All Ive got so far is thank you

chin choir. (I think of a choir of brian mulroneys). Actually more like Jin-Kwaya but I find absurd mentle images really help me remember. I alway learn at least hello and thank you.Dont really have hello yet. Chest?
or is it Vitay? dunno.

Billmeik,

The safest and most appropriate way is to use "Dzień dobry" for hello because "Czesc" and "Witaj" are expressions which you use only among friends and people you know well.
But the easiest way is to just asy "hello", we use it here in Poland quite often :-)
