Pediatric CCSVI

Post by mohzi »

Does anyone have any information on Pediatric CCSVI diagnosis? I have read and talked with several neuros that the worse the disability with MS, the worse the stenosis is. I am just curious about the testing of pediatric patients.

A group of researchers will start looking at pediatric CCSVI. It is one of those which received MSsocieties grants to test, not to treat.

•Dr. Brenda Banwell, The Hospital for Sick Children, Toronto, Ontario:
studying vein abnormalities in children and teenagers who have MS, and healthy controls of the same age. The team is seeking to determine whether the veins are abnormal at an early age among pediatric MS patients. These findings will add additional depth to studies of CCSVI in adult MS.
