After about a month the stent becomes part of the vein wall. it can't move. i had all your worries but it really is fine venous stents have actually been around for years. Just not used for CCSVI procedure i guess why you are worried is the problems with dr. dake he used arterial stents arteries and veins are not the same. You really have nothing to worry about.

Hi livabird,
Thank you!
Yes because of reading the dr. drake thing.. that really scared me with two young children I didn`t want to put my live in danger since I do Love my Life regards of the ups and downs of MS. I am able to walk normally and to the naked eye I look like a very healthy person. As for the inside of me... that`s another story that we all have to deal with on a daily basis.. I know that blod clots are a huge problem for this procedure but it would be for any other.. that i`m willing to deal with as we can get cheacked for and I would probably buy one of those machines you can test yourself at home... Alot of doctors wonder how it can with stand the blood flow in those veins since they say it moves very fast and strong... so I was wondering if that can move the stents at all. but thank you for re-assuring me as I do believe that I will be getting stents come October as my first procedure he told me I needed two but because I wrote on my paper no stents please... he didn`t try to convince me either way... He respected what I wrote.. the first month I felt improvement but this month I`m starting to get my symptoms back so I pretty much know what is going to be told to me come October and still trying to secure myself in my decision of getting them placed.
No prob there is no way they can migrate. There has not been one case of venous stent migration and is it not better to keep good results. I used to have your concerns purely brought on by media trying to find bad and having to rely on the two cases that were not done correctly the one death was through underlying causes even her family have stated. just keep thinking positively. The best is yet to come.

Thank you once again. Everything seems so much clearer as when this first came out the first thing I thought was I`m going to pay extra just for the stents.. and then I came across the dr. drake thing and started 2nd guessing myself.. also knowing it is for sure the media thing trying to scare everybody so Canada doesn`t look so bad without offering this type of treatment right now and covering there butts.... crazy... This is very postive for me and hoping this will bring me back to my positive thinking once again. Greatly appreciated and I`m happy you brought this up since i`m sure like both me and you, there are others out there probably thinking the same right now or somewhat close..
Cool Papa!!! Sounds good! I'm staying a few days at the Hospital-Hostel....I'm sure we'll meet you there......I've always wanted to get to Nova Scotia (ex-highland dancer) so it would be great to meet you!
I'm travelling with my friend - we used to Highland dance with each other as teenagers......
Just remember...today is T-51.........not too many days left......but yes..hard to wait!
35 (f) dx'd since July 2000 RRMS
Treated in Bulgaria on September 8 2010
80 percent narrowed RJV and 90 percent narrowed Azygos
On the second day after the procedure, my husband feels preety much the same way. There are some improvements however. It is easier for him to breath. He mentioned that he can take deeper breaths whereas before he would have to take a couple small breaths before taking a deep one. Also, there is more sensation in his two left hand fingers. (at least something). So, hopefully, it will continue to improve step by step.Balance also seems to improve and toes seem to get stronger. Doctors mentioned that he probably will be discharged in the afternoon. That would be great. By the way, you don't have to stay in the room the whole day. We went upstairs, had a coffee, relaxed and came back. I could stay with him as long as I wanted even though in paperwork it talks about limited visiting hours. I stayed till 12am yesterday and noone said anything.
Thanks again for the "news". We too look forward to meeting you. Our long awaited travels begin tomorrow evening. I guess wish will finally become reality and this Liberation treatment which has given so much hope to so many will soon be granted. We will be shooting the "before video" today and hopefully posting it as well. Good luck today with more positive results. Next stop Sofia!!!
I have my final long awaited sleep before my wife and I fly to Bulgaria tomorrow so I thought I would post a before video. This is the link. Once the Liberation treatment has been done I will post again.
Your updates are wonderful news and we hope more good improvements are coming your way! My husband is looking for those same results and more! Keep us posted!! We are cheering you both on!
Just got an email that I have a hospitalization date for Dec 15th in Sofia. That's really great news, but I also am on the waiting list for NY. Just wondering if NY, by some miracle, gives me an earlier date, can I cancel the Bulgaria date? I have 5 days to respond to Bulgaria. I'd love to go there really, but December isn't the best for weather and we planned to visit my husband's family in Slovenia and Hungary before we arrived in Bulgaria and would be driving. Oh, the dilemma of it all!!!
First, SanFran, yes you will be able to cancel Bulgaria because they don't require any money when you respond (I believe that Poland does).
I will be leaving in a few days and have a few questions for those who have been:
1. Is it two nights in hospital for everyone, or 3 if stents are required?
2. Visiting hours - Anya, you kind of answered that. I take it that there are recommended visiting hours, correct?
3. They do an ultrasound, but no MRV as a diagnostic method - is that right?
In other words, the veinography follows the ultra sound - yes?
4. For anyone staying at the Greenville. Is it true that you can't use the pool unless you wear a bathing cap? I bet it's an empty pool!
Thanks for any answers,
Kar from B.C.
