Newbie :)

Post by BlackCat »

Hello everyone,
I've read this forum many times (it is very interesting and informative) and finally I decided to join :D . I've been dx with RRMS in 2000 and was started on Betaseron, but after 3 yrs I was immune to it. Since then I've been on Copaxone, I guess it's working well because my attacks have gotten smaller (and my lesions have gotten smaller this year) :o . But I find that Copaxone is difficult because of the post injection reactions (which I get). But if it works... Also, because of the info found here, I've just started the Swank diet.

Anyway, that's enough rambling... I just wanted to say "Hi" :) .

Hi BlackCat,
Welcome to ThisIsMS.

You may wish to read these posts which discuss the differences between Betaseron and Avonex regarding neutralizing antibodies. Betaseron is more antigenic than Avonex since it's produced in bacteria cells which do not glycosylate the protein (attach sugar groups to it).

Thank you NHE, for the welcome and the info :)
I don't know if I will switch from Copaxone to Avonex, but I'll be sure to talk to my neuro about this. It is very interesting.
