Is it dangerous to leave Poland the day after balloon angio?

Post by adamt »

Ive been told i should stay in Poland 5 days after the procedure, but is it really necessary?

i will be staying in a hotel the day after the procedure onwards with no follow up appointments, so why stay in Poland for longer?

is there any risk by leaving/flying 1-2 days after the procedure?

hopefully i will only get having balloon angio and not stents

My Belgium docter gives the advice not to fly for two weeks after procedure.... :(

Differences in pressure, restenosis.. I don't really know, but I should take the advice seriously..

As most of the patients in Poland are foreigners, they all fly home after 2 or 3 days, until now no complications.

But i can imagine that it's more advisable to let it 'heal' a few weeks. Suppose the changes in (blood)pressure while exercising or flying are a kind of 'test' for the veins....

i did restenos and i stayed in europe for 2 weeks afterwards before flying home. so, I think if you're going to, you're going to.
I'm returning aug 24th, and hopefully getting a stent, and flying home to Canada a few days later. its all new, I don't think anyone knows, it's each person's experience, not facts at this point. I got tested before I left, and it wasn't good even then, but I was still improving, so I came home.
We knew this and even then said, because the improvements were so great, we'd go back in a heartbeat.
