CCSVI treatment available in the U.S.!
Hi, I was diagnosed with relapsing/remitting MS in 1998. I am an American citizen.
I have been accepted to the study at Jacobs Neurological Institute in Buffalo, NY, Dr. Robert Zivadinov.
I do not live in the state of New York. This study costs $4500USD, no airfare, no hotel, no transportation. Why do they call it a study if you are charged, especially if they aren't even going to do the surgery if you have stenosis?
So, this November I have been accepted by Hospital Clinica Biblica (private hospital), San Jose, Costa Rica, with Drs. Marcial Fallas, Javier Cabezas and Geiner Diaz. Tests, surgery, hotel and transportation are provided and the cost is $12,900USD.
Of course, this would be a real sweet deal if the airfare was provided too and the US dollar's exchange rate wasn't so low!
If there is anyone out there who has had the tests and surgery, I would be interested in hearing from you.
Will keep this forum posted with my recovery/results.

sallyd, do you have insurance coverage if you were able to find a provider in the United States? There are more than a handful of docs now treating. Most people with insurance are finding that insurance will cover some or all of the cost.
Regardless, I hope you find your way to treatment quickly and effectively.

I may still be way behind you as many people applied at that period. I called third week of June. Maybe they picked up the pace, more doctors are trained... Anyway, I decided today is a good day. Everything happens for a raison, I don't know what, when or why. All I have control of is what I do today, now.
Congrats that is absolutely exciting news!!!! My initial call date was June 1st so I'm just wondering if other June 1st callers have received appointments or people in and around that date? Just wondering.Rieja wrote:Glad to help out anyway I can. Yeah I first called back on June 2nd so you can guess at the timeframe from there... maybe someone backed out as well? <shrug> dunno

Freaking can't wait. Though I am still wary of insurance paying for this... we will see

I hope every one gets a call soon. Today, tomorrow, ... this week.

My intial call was on the 31st or the 1st I believe. They called me back on June 2nd. I use that date as I was talking to a humanBevB wrote: Congrats that is absolutely exciting news!!!! I guess that means I should be towards the top of the list. I'll keep my fingers crossed. As per the e-mail the waiting list is based on the day you first called which is good because I actually missed my initial call back on June 3rd from the office.Rieja wrote:My intial call was on the 31st or the 1st I believe. Thanks Rieja for clearing that up. All the best to you in your Liberation.
