Intervent.Radiologist/ Vas.Surgeon List needed for SW Penna

Post by Kate_PghPA »

Please help!
I want to get liberated but my HMO insurance is only local: ( Univer.of Pittsburgh Med Ctr) UPMC + budget is tighter than my constricted neck veins.

Besides these TWO Sites for IR/Vascular:

http://www.ucomparehealthcare.com/drs/p ... iologists/

and vascular surgeons:
http://www.ucomparehealthcare.com/drs/p ... _surgeons/

The THIRD IR/Vasc. list is known but do NOT know it...anyone have a clue?
Thank you in advance!! kate

Go to "featured entries" and click on "Denise Manley's New List".

I don't think it has anyone in Pa. but you might find someone close.
Good luck.

I don't want to even ask but are the docs on this list actually 'out'? Or is it the same list with the same problems from last week?

If you post and ask, I bet someone else will know.

Sorry Cece... not sure if you're asking me...I believe I am looking for a Public list of IRs, Vascular Surgeons
...in fact YOU kindly recommended 2 of the three that Allegedly exist.

Just asking in general...the link posted above was to DM's list of CCSVI docs, which never did have any PA docs on it, IIRC.

I did just call Shadyside Hosp IR dept...spoke only to receptionist, who kept insisting I needed to get my PCP to give specifics on 'venous compression'...
Later on I explained ...Insists she never heard of MS venoplasty, etc.

Just a bit of advice for letter writers. Mark personal on the envelope. I saw a vascular surgeon and I asked if he had received other letters as I read that others had sent to all vascular surgeons here & his name was on the vascular surgeon list here. He answered "no". I really feel unless they are marked personal they don't get beyond the front desk. Unfortunately upon seeing him he refused testing & treatment but I do know he read my letter. Here in Minnesota I found 2 interested in seeing me. One cancelled before my appt. & the other is the surgeon I indicated above. Both said they touched base with Mayo & would not proceed after talking to them. Mayo is definetely not willing to proceed now.
