A deep, heartfelt thanks to all of you, really!

My balance is clearly better- not sure why; not something I expected (my balance was never really that bad in the first place), but it really is better.

I feel a bit woozy from what I believe to be the Plavix. Other than that, I am ok.

I have been babying myself today and resting most of the day- but I have not slept once!!! That is also very weird. Normally, if I am in the bed, I am asleep. No dice! Just lying calmly and AWAKE. So weird for me.

There is no question in my mind that everyone needs to get this done. I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I am starting to pick up on weird little changes that I certainly never anticipated.

The ever-present dark circles under my eyes are pretty much gone- I attribute that to the collapse of collateral veins that were extended to my face, especially by my cheekbones.

I squatted down to pet my ever-present dog. And then I simply stood up. And I had to think to myself- holy cow! I just stood up- that was usually a dramatic, hysterical event from that position. But this time, I just stood up.

I did not nap once yesterday. HUGE.

I still don't have feeling in my left hand, which I would have really liked (take THAT placebo advocates!), but I really did feel like this damage was permanent. I do have a black hole in the area that would be tied to motor movement in this area. It may never come back, and really, that is ok- but I do not believe I will get any more. :)

Overall, I am starting to realize that MS affected me in so many ways that I got used to- I realize that I have things back that I did not even realize were gone. I like these things and want them to stay- I want them for all of us!

So excited for you!!! Isn't it strange to experience the *lack* of symptoms and realize they could be related to this procedure and you had no idea? It is such an alien and wonderful feeling -- even your simple description of petting the dog. :-)

Stay well hydrated as you eliminate toxins, and consider extra vitamin C. :-)

Oh, and pamper yourself. What better time? -)

Congrats BooBear! Great to hear of your improvements. Are you having regular follow-ups? Are all patients prescribed Plavix for three months?

I'm scheduled for next Monday in Albany and it seems like a long wait since the first call but I'm counting down the hours now instead of days.
I feel fortunate to have this opportunity for liberation as this will be the first time in 14 years that I can honestly say that I have some hope.

Good luck with the continued improvements.

Shea, you will find Albany to be a wonderful experience. The staff is great!

If you have only the angio, you will need Plavix for three months. If any stents are used, you will need Plavix for six. I got my first dose in the hospital during recovery and had my Rx before I walked out the door.

Let us know how it goes!!!! So many of us now!!!!

Albany is doing anticoagulants after angio now? That is a change, before it was only after stents?
