Insurance Thoughts?

Post by SamSam »

I'm so happy to find you all blogging about this here!
This is my first post to the forum - I'm scheduled for the procedure at the beginning of October.

I see I need to be insured for the procedure. What insurance packages have people bought? I understand insurance for the procedure is expensive and perhaps best bought separate from general medical travel insurance?

Any and all help Greatly appreciated...

hey everyone,

I went to see a new neuro today and didn't bother to tell him I'm having the procedure done. He only suggested in patient rehab therapy but as he was talking I was shaking my head NO!! What good would this do? It was an OK visit, but he knew he couldn't help much and nothing new in the line of medication. I wanted to tell him my good news about ccsvi procedure but knew it was best not to!! I'm thankful to have an understanding GP- she is great!! She saw all the news of ccsvi and thought of me and felt I would be the one to have this done.

See some of you in Sofia in Sept.
Papa

When are you going to be in Bulgaria, I am taking my wife (livabird) on October 6th until October 14th, maybe we will bump into each other.
We have been to Poland in April, but unfortunatley it has not worked this time, hoping for better results in Bulgaria.

We just got back from Sofia. The only place to get souveniers like t-shirts, coffee mugs, etc... is by the vendors/booths set up around the large cathedral. There is not too many true souvenier places as the malls dont really have that sort of stuff. If staying at the Greenwood, just ask the conceirge for directions. Its about a 7-8 leva ($5 CDN) taxi from hotel or hospital there.

Hi LivabirdsHubbie -- I do like your nickname :)

I arrive October 6 as well, will be with my cousin and am planning to stay at the Greenville. I'm sorry to hear Poland didn't work -- would you feel comfortable writing about why? I'm very interested in hearing how people are fairing with the procedure. If you're not comfortable writing on the site, we could swap emails.... Thank you.

THANKS! -- I think I misread the confirmation email and had the idea that a special kind of insurance was REQUIRED ... and I couldn't figure out how to get it (!) ... so I started to worry....

... important new journey and all, wouldn't want to stumble on first hurdle...

postcards

Post by Kar »

A woman I've newly met from Victoria is looking forward to her trip to Sophia in September. She doesn't use this site,so I said I'd add her idea. She plans to bring a postcard of Victoria and put it in the floor lounge (they call it the 'Winter Garden" - a nice sunny room. She thought it would be fun if all Canadians brought a postcard from their hometown and put it on a bulletin board in the lounge. A nice idea, I think(:

To those who have been, here's a question: did you get your cd of the procedure to work when you got it home? I know that mine and two others did not work. Frustrating as I have a doctor who has requested a copy of it.

Hi SamSam, will be great meeting up with you.
The first month Liva had good results, the normal warm feet etc.. no pain, but over time it came back, we think there are a couple of reasons for this, possible restenosis of the right jugular, maybe the stent in the left is blocked, but we think more likely it is the azygos vein which poland did not do anything with. With PPMS we have read that it is generally the azygos which is affected the most. Prof Gosdinski understands this and will pay close attention to this, so fingers crossed, getting close now
All the best and we can keep chatting until the 6th when we can meet in person
