The American College of Phebology is meeting November 4-7 in Florida and announced Dr. Zamboni will give their keynote address:

I am getting more and more dense in the head, and so, have trouble understanding things, so I am going to ask; what does it mean when someone posts without writing anything, such as sbr has done above. Sometimes people just quote someone else without adding anything. I have been on blogs for years, and been a site administrator, and I have never seen it before.

Excuse my OT question.

Edit: Oh, I see that sbr had an emoticon there (once I quoted him it shows as :D). I have them blocked because anything that moves on a page confuses and stresses me (even the blinking cursor).

Yes, the quoting what people say, without adding anything...what's the point. ..isn't it easier to say "I agree". Personally, I think if the posts have nothing of value to add to the conversation (for instance lots of congratulating), they shouldn't be written, as it just makes for more pointless reading. It's hard enough to sift through everything, so that I can't be bothered most of the time. It would be nice if people considered not posting, after all, there is no prize for having posted the mostest.

Okay, then why not PM instead of add clutter to a thread to ask a question or make a comment that doesn't contribute to the conversation?

Same thing....maybe going for the mostest? So in this instance, I'll post here in the thread instead of PM ya!!!

I went with 'shocked' because it's a cute one, but I also considered a wink or a Mr. Cool.

srb487 ~ I LOVE the emoticons. They are a great way to show support. My comment was about debating whether or not to use them and if they were worth clutter the threads.
