Not sure this has been pointed out as a resource to find acting IRs.

You can search for IRs that are testing and/or treating CCSVI that are SIR members. I didn't check all the states but I saw 2 IRs in NY (not Sclafani or Siskin) and 1 in FL.

Why haven't you found one in Minneapolis yet? Maybe if we Minnesotan's all call, we can get some interest. I can start calling Monday.

JCB

Go to the Hubbard foundation website and click on CCSVI regestry

then select locations

then select view larger map...there are two sites in the twin cities that have expressed interest in joining the study

Send the Hubbard foundation an email and in 2-3 business days they will send you the contact info for those Dr's

Good hunting

I sent them that email at the start of the week. I received back the name of a doctor here in St. Paul. He IS NOT one of the ones who have applied. He had contacted the Hubbards, showing some interest, but has not gone through with applying.

I will share the name via email as long as we don't flood the poor guy! I am as always on the fence about what to do personally, I don't want someone inexperienced.

My wife & I agree.....We want the DR who treats her to have at least 50 procedures experience

Here are the names from the sirweb site for docs in NY who have listed CCSVI in MS as one of their areas of expertise (this does not mean any actual expertise as implied but a self-reported interest):

1.Aaron Fischman, MD - (212) 241-7409
New York, NY - Mount Sinai Medical Center

2.Robert A. Lookstein, MD, FSIR - (212) 241-7409
New York, NY - Mount Sinai Hospital

And in Florida:

1.Barry T. Katzen, MD, FSIR - (786) 596-5990
Miami, FL - Baptist Cardiac & Vascular Institute

Arizona:

1.William J. Romano, MD, FSIR - (480) 440-9784
Phoenix, AZ - MDIG/VIP

Maryland:

1.Ziv J Haskal, MD, FSIR - (410) 328-3631
Baltimore, MD - University of Maryland

2.Rahul S. Patel, MD - (786) 596-5990
Baltimore, MD - University of Maryland School of Medicine

Rhode Island:

1.Gregory M. Soares, MD - (401) 421-1924
Providence, RI - RI Vascular Institute

( no one in any of the other states)
(some docs like drsiskin, drenglander and drsclafani have CCSVI listed under "Additional information" since they listed it before SIR added the choice under areas of expertise)
