I lie down a couple of times a day at least after having angioplasty on the jugulars. It seems like a nobrainer to me that on a regular basis you would want to run water through a hose you had unbent and staying upright for perhaps 16 hours a day seems a bit much for me if my jugs have been stenosed for years. With respect to the azygos I don't know is blood running through it when both vertical and horizontal?

I had the procedure yesterday and my right jugular was a bear to open. 18mm balloon finally did the trick. But there is still a rough spot. Went home with 6 doses of lovanox and instructions to spend as much time in a "supine" position as possible. Go back on Monday morning for an ultrasound recheck to make sure there are no clots or restenosis. That was the follow up plan (with less lovanox) before we knew what the issues would be.

I live 1.25 hours away from where I had the procedure done, which is what makes this protocol possible.

Great you can get a good doppler follow-up nearby, I am envious.
