Had my procedure!

Post by jewelia »

Hi all,

I just thought I'd let you know I had a successful procedure done on Monday, Jan.3 by Dr. Englander. I had a blockage in the left jugular vein just below the clavicle (about 60-70% stenosed). It had to be ballooned twice - the 1st time it did not hold as the balloon wasn't centered properly, however the second time was successful.

It was virtually painless, except for the expected pressure when the balloon was inflated. The staff were very pleasant and professional.

Initially, I was surprised that when I stood up I felt that my feet were on solid ground for a change and did not have the feeling of being off balance. I also noticed that my vision was very clear. I had tried not to have any expectations so I was pleasantly surprised by these two observations.

I was quite tired though as my appointment was was at 7 AM and I had not slept much the night before, so I just rested that afternoon at the hotel. When I got up later for dinner I was still quite tired and felt dizzy much like I used to feel. I think it is really too soon to tell if I have had any benefits from the procedure, but I am optimistic that there may will be changes in the days to come. I will keep you posted.

Congratulations! I hope you will have wonderful improvements. I had a bad valve in my low left jugular. I am one of Dr. Dake's patients, so I have a stent there now. It has been almost 14 months now and I have my life back. I will be thinking of you and hoping your procedure is a huge success also!
Take care and get plenty of rest!

Hi Jewelia,
Congratulations. I hope you see tons of improvements. I met Dr. M. Englander, when Dr. Siskin did mine. She is very pleasant. They all are so nice there.

Did you have any other blockages to meet the criteria of CCSVI? Did she do the Azygos? Ask for the US CD and report, and the same for the procedure. They will burn one for you, no problem.

Where you at CC or Albany Medical Center?

Sorry to ask so much, but you sound very chipper 2 days out.
Good luck to you.
