Kirsty Duncan

Post by Hooch »

What concerns me here in Canada is this. We know that the Liberal party will now support testing and treatment for CCSVI - Michael Ignatieff has come out and said this. Kirsty Duncan will make sure that he keeps his word. There are also members of the NDP that are supportive too but here is our dilemma

What has happened here in the last two elections is that more people have voted for the opposition parties than the government but all that has done is split the vote. The Tories still win.

I believe we need to stongly send a message to all, including family and friends that, if we want a change in the CCSVI staus quo we have to vote Liberal because at least we have that commitment from the leader.

I didn't want this thread to be all politics, but since it is: I may donate to my brother's NDP campaign. It may be the last try, and he has issues that are very important to fight too. We have seen what a difference an opposition member can make. I don't agree with the vote-splitting argument, and think you should vote your conscience. But *IN* *THIS* *CASE*, please vote for Dr. Duncan's party. Hold your nose if necessary. :)

I agree VOTE LIBERAL Maybe this is naive but Ignatieff will have to live up to his promise!

I'm not certain a change in party will make a difference. In Ontario, the Liberals are resisting all the way, while a Conservative MPP has started a petition for clinical trials. In other provinces, the roles are reversed with Liberals pushing Conservatives for studies or treatments. In the meantime, nothing is getting done and we continue to be caught in the middle.

Thank goodness we have Dr. Duncan on our side. Also, Dr. McDonald, Dr. Haacke and Dr. Hubbard are scheduled to testify at a Parliamentary sub-committee in Ottawa tomorrow to try to get something moving in Canada.

Dr. Hubbard is a brave man to travel from San Diego to Ottawa during the wicked winter we've having. I hope he and the others get a warmer reception from the politicians than from the weather!
