I have had a really decreased sensation in my groeing area for about 8 months now, last few months seems like its even worse. I just started LDN so I am hoping that will stop "worsening" and im about to start ABX.
The weird thing is, I can feel my brain remapping around the damage. For example, my groeing numbness is a bit worse than it was before, but now i feel strong sensation in my left foot.
So when my groeing is stimulated i feel a strong sensation in my left foot, and that is the area that surrounds the groeing in the humonculus.
Is that a good sign that maybe my brain is repairing and sensation might return to normal? This is honestly one of my worse symtpoms and pretty much destroyed any chance of a sex life I have.
I'm trying to stay positive but its really crushing my spirits.
Anyone had sensation come back in a numb body part?

Yes I have on a few occasions.
I went very numb down my right side a long time ago, but it lifted over the course of a few months.
Then I had a half-numb half-body (I was numb exactly on the right half) for another few weeks, it came back.
I get toes and patches of numbness on and off, it always passes over time.
Tyr hope yours will pass too.

The only thing that worries me is this has lasted like 7 months.Wonderfulworld wrote:Yes I have on a few occasions.

Also supplement wise. Yeah I am just starting things now. My doc just put me on LDN 2.0MG a week ago or so. Also, I am taking vitamin D, B and DL-phenalynine(for ldn), and Alpha Lipoic Acid. I plan start taking minocycline next week. I'm in debt ATM, so makes it hard to get a good range of supplements.
tyr i hear you re $$$ i have to get help from family these days
it's important to balance d supplementation with adequate intakes of calcium, magnesium, and zinc. whenever your budget allows i strongly suggest you consider working those in!
vitamin E is another good one. specifically, E8 complex with 4 tocopherols and 4 tocotrienols. in food, raw sunflower seeds are a great source - 1/4 c per day. it helped me regain lost position sense and SOMEthing helped me get feeling back 'down there' (wish i could isolate which one)

Hi Tyr--I've had numbness issues several times over the years, although never "completely" numb. I've had it go away in some places, and not in others. I currently have some numbness in my left hand--especially on my index finger--and it's been that way since July. Been trying some meds--Tegretol, Neurontin, just started trying Cymbalta today. I know how you feel--the longer it lingers, the more hopeless you fee.
But--even though there's no way to know for sure, your issues could still go away, and I sure hope they do!
Hang in there!
(Thanks, Jimmy, for always sharing your supplement knowledge. I have to admit, I really haven't done a whole lot with supplements--and I really need to!)
