Interesting article about artery-widening neck patch

Post by Perky »

I read this in the Daily Mail yesterday; http://www.dailymail.co.uk/health/artic ... s-bay.html.

Very interesting - I wonder if a similar treatment could be developed for the veins in CCSVI? It could possibly be a solution to the scarring/clotting problems associated with angioplasty.

Infra-red light is, I believe, present in sunlight. I always feel hugely better after sunbathing on holiday - coincidence?

I'm very interested in seeing where this goes! I really wonder if people with certain other disorders that are not MS may actually have he condition of CCSVI, too. Perhaps many of us in the world start out with the CCSVI condition and then it developes into many other disorders, depending on what you genetic makeup is. It seems too coincidental that alzheimer's and dementia can have a vascular component, the same as MS. Probably Parkinson's, ALS, and who knows what else. I would sure to love to have this similar treatment developed for MS! Are the carotid arteries unaffected in CCSVI? It seems like this patch of infrared light or whatever could be used for the jugulars, too.

Very interesting. All 3 of my veins are 100% blocked with scarring. I would try this if I could.

Too many coincidences. I don't believe in coincidences. Infra-red? Sunlight? Latitude? Naaaahhh. I must be demented. Oh, well, at least I got this far... We're going to the zoo! Yahoo! :?

It seems like even if the network of collateral veins that have formed in lieu of jugulars could be treated in this way to make them more efficient at what they are trying to do.

Re: Sunlight

Perky,

I often feel better after being out in the sun or even the tanning booth - despite being heat sensitive!!

I think Cheer posted something about light (UV?) being a vasodilator long time ago.

e.g. light therapy for neuropathy http://www.anodynetherapy.ca/index.html

thanks, PN

I had not seen this...I actually contacted them to try this out! The neuropathy in both of my arms is my most bothersome symptom. I use neurontin, but even that is starting to lose its effectiveness. So, I wonder if wrapping this thing around the neck would do anything? :o

What company makes this? And did they respond to you?

I just received an email back from Anodyne Therapy which included an offer to buy a discounted unit complete with a refund - if I provided feedback on my experience with it. Maybe I should try? I was impressed by their response.

I just sent an email to Clarimedix Inc. Which is the company that makes this device. What exactly is Anodyne selling you, and for how much? I am very interested.

This is the response I got from the company that has this device.

Hi Dania – thank you for the email and the interest.
We have not looked at MS as a potential market for our treatment yet. Unfortunately we are a small company with limited resources and Alzheimer’s is taking all of those at the moment.

I do appreciate your interest and hope we can begin to expand the uses of our therapy soon.

Best Regards,
john

Someone from Anodyne tried to call me today, but I wasn't home. The number is on caller ID, so if they don't call back tomorrow then I may call the number back. I think you should definately try it! Do you have neuropathy? Is it in your hands, feet, or both? Thanks! Shannon

If you try it, we all want to know how it goes.
