Please explain why a device that opens arteries is relevant to people who may have stenosed veins. I am no expert on anatomy but arteries and veins are not at all similar.

Laboratory tests show that infrared light — the kind used in night vision goggles — penetrates the skin and stimulates an enzyme in blood vessels called mitochondrial cytochrome C oxidase, which triggers the release of nitric oxide.
This makes the artery widen, increasing the space available for blood to flow through to the brain.

They say blood vessels. That includes veins.

I see two ways for it to work.
1-nitric acid production is boosted, this works to relax veins too; if there is a stenosis, the stenosis itself wouldn't relax but if everything else did, there might be somen benefit; I am also thinking it may be beneficial as a post-liberation treatment, I also think this about HBOT and exercise
2-it's already shown to boost arterial flow, which means more oxygen in the inflow; it's similar to the boost we get when we exercise

I understand why NO acts on muscle in arterial walls but veins do not have muscle in their walls. Is there any evidence that NO acts on vein walls ??

veins do have smooth muscle cells, it's the layer that overgrows when intimal hyperplasia occurs

I am actually confused about nitric oxide, it's been discussed here before but I don't understand it yet. Sometimes it is good and sometimes bad? Dania thanks for posting that link.

So sorry Mark. I am not a religious person. I read the article but never got that far to see the religious message. Had I seen it I would of found another article that explains Nitous Oxide and it role with veins.
