Hi Asher,Asher wrote:Day +6 post transplantation. I'm back. Days +2 thru +5 were hell, but today we turned the corner. From here on things can only get better.
Very glad you're feeling better. Sucks to feel sick. My worst days were +5 thru +8. But everyone responds a little differently. As soon as your leukocytes start rising, you'll instantly start feeling MUCH better. Soon.
Don't hassle the nurses too much!
Regards,
George
keep us posted on your recovery. I know some of us, meincluded, are really interested and planning to do this.

One week ago I started walking with just one crutch in my apartment and while being in small closed areas like restaurants – this is a big thing for me, my left leg is 3cm shorter due to the nasty fracture, and I have balance problems due to my (ex?) MS.
My exercise these days during holidays (no air-condition, very hot days, sometimes lots of moisture):
40 min on my upper body, including 12x70 pushups and boxing with my eyes closed
30 min cycling in apartment
45 min on my lower body, including putting different weights on my legs
20 min on a big ball (balance, coordination)
30 min walking
90-120 min of swimming, not bathing
Hmmm…compared with EDSS 6.0-6.5 pre-transplant, not being able to do 10 pushups, when something like walking 15 minutes in the heat or moisture could leave me utterly exhausted for the rest of the day…you do the math.

Re: HSCT Cure Rate?
You guys are the reason I am hoping to get in to Dr. Burt's study in December or January. How this thing has been around for all this time and hasnt been approved is beyond me. I have spoken to over a dozen folks who have had it, and aside from reading about Stella, I have heard nothing to keep me away. My fundraising is way behind where I thought it would be at this point, but Maybe they will accept me and insurance will help some.
