Feeling of high "pressure" in neck 3 months post-p

Post by dianabee »

I had my CcSvi procedure in April and with the exception of a killer headache the first 48 hours, I've been symtom-free, until a few weeks ago. I am not sure this is related to the procedure, but I really don't see how it couldn't be: I'm experiencing what feels like pressure buildup in my neck (front/sides) mostly when lying down. It seems to be worse in the evening. I get some relief from lying without a pillow. It's terribly uncomfortable.
Sometimes it is accompanied by a whooshing sound when I move my head.

Has anyone else experienced this?
I am due back to the IR within the next few weeks.
I am taking 1 aspirin per day as directed.

You never experienced the feeling prior to the procedure?
It could be congestion but presumably you had venous congestion before and didn't feel it. It worries me too whenever someone has a new symptom like that, if it might be due to narrowing due to thrombosis or intimal hyperplasia or just simple restenosis, so I am glad you have an IR appt coming up. The whooshing sound might be pulsatile tinnitus which is the sound of the blood flow in the IJV going past the ear.

I haven't experienced what you describe but maybe someone else has?
