CCSVI Alliance at VIVA Vascular Conference

On October 20th, CCSVI Alliance will be hosting an evening Satellite Session at the VIVA 2011 annual conference at the Wynn Resort in Las Vegas.

Medical and scientific professionals in attendance at VIVA are invited to join local area MS patients and caregivers to learn about the current and future research on CCSVI.

Dr. Michael Dake and Dr. Manish Mehta will be joined by members of Dr. Mark Haacke's team from Wayne State University and by a local Las Vegas MS specialist.

CCSVI Alliance will open the registration for the patient community in the next couple of days. (Please note - patient registration is not available on the VIVA website)

Hope to meet some of our southwest TIMS members at the conference!

Dr. Dake will be making a presentation at the TCT (transcatheter cardiovascular therapeutics) conference in San Francisco in November, but the Alliance won't be there. I'll update as we come to the end of the year, if I learn of any more conferences including CCSVI in the US.

UPDATE on CCSVI Alliance event at the VIVA conference:

Dr. Gabriella Gregory, MD - neurologist specializing in MS and Dr. Raymond Shaheen, MD - vascular surgeon diagnosed with MS in 2002 have been added to our discussion panel. Dr. Shaheen's presentation will be about bridging the gap between patient and doctor.

Sharon, thanks for those listings from the Veith conference. It's interesting how they broke it up into an Enthusiast's view, a Skeptic's view, an Interventionalist's, a Neuro-interventionalist, another interventionalist's (Dr. Dake's), and a Vascular Surgeon's view.

I want to hear from the neuro-interventionalists about their opinion on blockages and malformations of the sinuses, in MS patients, but this particular neuro-interventionalist will be speaking about the status of the PREMISE RCT trial. Ok, I am interested in that too.

But to keep on topic with the original post, is anyone from TiMS thining about attending the Las Vegas conference and the CCSVI Alliance satellite session?
