There isn't really a board for this sort of topic, and I am really getting worried about some stuff.
For backstory, I am a permanent resident in Canada and it'll take almost two years to get full citizenship; I'll need to renew my permanent residency before that is all finalized. There's a (new I'm assuming) immigration law here where you can be denied residency if you're considered "an undue burden on the healthcare system of canada."
To be considered a "burden" the approximate cost must be below a set limit- and there is a precedent with a case about a family being denied residency because their daughter had MS and the medications exceed the limit.
I've built a life here; I have a loving partner who is very supportive and friends and a job. I am utterly terrified that if I go to renew my residency they'll deport me back to the USA because I'm sick. I don't know what I'd do. I'm only 20 and I don't know how I'd start off in a new place with no one there that I knew and no money behind me.
I guess what I'm really asking is if anyone knows a fair amount about immigration laws and whether or not the "excessive cost" rule applies to people seeking to renew residency or if it is just for the initial resident permit.
I'm really scared...

I would guess you would first need to find out if they would actually deport you. I can see that they may deny you healthcare as an undue burden but perhaps would allow you to stay if you pay for your own healthcare. I am just guessing....

I am strongly going to suggest that you contact a lawyer who specializes in Canadian Immigration Law. As much as we would like to help you, asking us on ThisIsMS about such a complex situation isn't in your best interests. A lawyer would know the law and all the issues that would be involved in your situation.
