mri report

Post by ce28 »

Hello everyone.. im new here and this is my first post.

Im 26 years old and i have no ms history im my family..
Lately, I'm experiencing some symptoms such as headache (sometimes), vertigo, dizziness, numbness mostly in my feets, I feel like buzzing feeling underneath feet.

I made mri and here is what is written in the report.

focal areas of high signal on T2 and FLAIR images noted in the right corona radiata suggestive of focal areas of demyelination. .No enhancement of these areas seen on post contrast study. suggested clinical correlation to rule out any signs of multiple .sclerosis.

The doctor saw the mri and told me that it could be related to vitamen d and thats why I made vitamen d test and I found out that it is very low. He told me to Take 5000iu capsules of vitamin D daily for 6 months.

So what the report says and could this be an early sign of multiple sclerosis?

ce28 – Welcome to the ThisIs MS community.

To answer your question, "could this be an early sign of multiple sclerosis?", Yes, it could be. But there are MANY other conditions with similar symptoms.

You and your doctor have begun to examine and eliminate these other possibilities. The test of your vitamin D level is a good beginning. Continue to work with him, testing for cortisol level, glucose and insulin levels, the thyroid hormone levels (TSH, Free T4, Free T3, Reverse T3, and antithyroid antibodies). Ask for your own copy of the test results and keep your own file at home.

All the best to you.
My hypothesis: excess insulin (hyperinsulinemia) plays a major role in MS, as developed in my initial post: http://www.thisisms.com/forum/general-discussion-f1/topic1878.html "Insulin – Could This Be the Key?"

Thank you Lindacarol for the advice.

Could you tell me what are causes of demylination?

I have not researched the topic of demyelination and cannot answer your question of cause. I'm not sure that anyone knows the answer to what exactly causes demyelination.
