More info on origins of website
I recently discovered this site, and I'm curious to know: where are you based out of? how did this come about? who's responsible for the site?
I'm curious, because up until now my sole resource of info was nmss.org and now I'm not so sure I should visit that site anymore...

Hi Suzq, and welcome to ThisIsMs, I do believe this forum came into being in the later part of 2003, and I think this forum was developed to try and help with all aspects of living with and dealing with MS in an openminded and inclusive format..
As for where to get your information, never limit yourself as to the amount of or places to get information, I would suggest that once you have information you are interested in, then if you have questions about that specific info, research it online or ask questions in the many forums online..
Folks here will always do their best to help in anyway they can , as will others on different forums..
Philip

Site improvements by members
I know not many read this forum location but I have a suggestion.
Many members don't include any personal info. Could we all at LEAST include a location (country, state maybe even city)? I'm sure there are many members here that would consider friendships outside this site with members that are reasonably close......and there must be some. I realize there are privacy issues but I'm not suggesting an address! There aren't even references to gender. That goes back to the prevelence of this disease female vs. male occurence.
Cooperation anyone?
Thanks for considering my suggestion.
Treez............aka Steve, 41, male, USA, Michigan!

Texas heard from it a weather report
What a good idea! I'd appreciate a little more info on my onscreen acquaintances. Helps me picture more about you folks within your contexts, you know?
I'm writing from Austin, Texas, on a wet Halloween morning, excitedly anticipating our second (and best) cold front of the season, due tomorrow night. Today it'll reach the 80's again despite the rain, but it's forecast to be near 40 degrees on Wednesday morning! That gives me hope and something to look forward to no matter who wins the election! Summers in Central/South Texas last about 5 months, and are especially hard on us MS patients.
Viva la cool!
