For Canadians only to sign?
Please, Ms. Aglukkaq, in your capacity as our national Minister of Health, allow Interventional Radiologists, and Vascular Surgeons (including Cardiology specialists) to perform the CCSVI procedure, without threats to their medical licenses, using Intravenous Ultrasound, balloon angioplasty, fluoroscopes, and whatever other devices they may find useful.
Gotta agree with this. Let the doctors be doctors.

Oh, no, no, NO! :-D :!:

Your country's flag appears, with your name (as provided when you sign up), when you sign the petition. It provides feedback to page-viewers about how fast the petition is moving. Of course Canadians welcome all the support they can get, from every country that it comes from. Please, if you support this petition, sign up and sign it! It hardly takes any time at all. They have never bothered me with ads, or given my email to anyone. I have been a member at least 5 years. If you keep the sign-up page on another browser tab, you will probably see your name scroll past, seconds after you sign it. With your flag.

Please pass the link to anyone you think may help, and include soothing words about not being bothered by junk emails again. Even AVAAZ has not contacted me since I wrote the thing. If you sign up you will likely receive *their* email but they only send the most critical world-affecting ones, such as those about Syria.

Please, world, we need your help too. Thank you.

Of course, lots of Canadians, and I don't know because I haven't been watching all the time, but thanks also to Anders from Denmark, and all the rest who voted. Sorry, no voting more than once. I did see one woman, her son, and her father. Three generations!

Hello again. :-D

This petition needs a good image. If you have a URL to one, that would be good. If you can't do that, PM me a request, and I will send an email address for you to send it to directly. I will shrink it to the expected size (150 by 300 pixels). If you do have it at an URL, tell it to me in a PM. That will allow me to display it, and I'll take it from there. I think the system accepts jpeg files.

We need a good image, that is captivating. Thanks.

Lol, as they say. Ha, ha, ha. I won't be using it because a) I don't want neurologists mentioned, and b) I would like it to be serious. I might grab an image from CCSVI-Locator or one of the millions of angioplasty shots. I just thought something more compelling might exist somewhere else: you shouldn't assume I have seen everything that has been linked to. I haven't.

But thanks. And here are some facts:

5 minutes ago Cheryl Villeneuve, Canada
42 minutes ago Gerry Villeneuve, Canada
2 hours ago Ann Lauridsen, Denmark
3 hours ago Ewald Schober, Canada
6 hours ago VANESSA SANCHES CARVALHO, Canada
7 hours ago gabriel leake, United States of America
8 hours ago Richard Wiser, Canada
9 hours ago Nouhad Jazra, Canada
9 hours ago Tim Trevenna, Canada
9 hours ago Matt Parta, Canada
10 hours ago Mark Docherty, Canada
10 hours ago Marianne Ford, Canada
10 hours ago Lorraine Graham, Canada
10 hours ago Mike, Canada
11 hours ago Kent Deveraux, Canada
11 hours ago Valerie Tibbles, Canada
12 hours ago Urbain, Jacinthe, Canada
12 hours ago Anne LaRocque, Canada
13 hours ago Tom Glenwright, Canada
13 hours ago Michel Sastre, Canada

It's from early in the day to now, I think. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D

Besides I think it would take me more than three shots. And I don't have that much money.

I am not signing this petition. I believe 100% that CCSVI is real and restricted blood flow is causing many if not all our symptoms. Having under gone multiple angioplasties that led to the death of my jugulars which in turn made my condition worse than before. Many others are now worse after angioplasty. There is a facebook site, POST CCSVI PROCEDURE- SLOWER RECOVERY SUPPORT that has 600 members. Some did not get any benefits and some who lost their improvements are now worse than before. I did experience major improvements after the first angioplasty but they were unfortunately short lived. Too many are restenosing. Zamboni said about 45% do. Far too high, in my opinion. But the fact that many are now worse than before is frightening. And would not want to see one more Canadian more disabled after any procedure. I would support a petition for researching CCSVI, and the best method of attacking this problem. Maybe it will be a better angioplasty. Who knows? But as for what is currently being done, it is not acceptable, in my opinion

Obviously I sympathize with you Dania and others who have had negative outcomes. 100%.
But...
What about the 55% that don't have restenosis? What about the percentage of people that have excellent outcomes? Shouldn't those suffering in Canada who have no other options left, and are willing to take the gamble deserve the chance? Right now that chance is off the table completely unless you can cough up the bucks and go to another country. That's why I signed. I want to be able to have the best follow-up care as well right here in Canada where my taxes pay for my healthcare.
All procedures have a certain percentage of people for whom it is not effective. That isn't a reason to remove the ability for others to have the procedure. Some people that have arterial angioplasty also have negative outcomes, yet they continue to perform the procedures.
In fact even if the positive outcome rate was only 10%, I still see it as worthwhile. Since I had no other options left I would have taken the gamble even at 5%.

Also, 1eye, I just posted the image tongue in cheek. Obviously if you want credibility, the Neuro bashing would be a bad idea. :)
