Tests for Nutritional Deficiencies

Post by stazmatic »

I have RRMS and am wanting to know what vitamins and supplements I am deficient in. I am seeing a new PCP this Thursday and was hoping to get her to order up some bloodwork so that I can see what I am lacking etc. So far my neuro would only order up Vitamin D and B12 levels which the Vit. D was 21 inititally and now it is 90. My B12 levels were not low or high. I want bloodwork for all potential deficiencies run through my PCP because I know that they will be covered by insurance (or should be). However, I don't know what bloodwork I should request. Can anyone give me guidance with this and whether I should fast for any of the bloodwork too?

Jimmylegs had a detailed post on this about a year or two ago. It might be best to send her a private message (PM).

Thanks! I will take a look at what you posted and I might have some more questions then. I sure hope this new PCP will listen to me and order up the tests I need.
