I'm here and I check this page every day. I always check to see if Dr. Sclafani writes any comments or observations. I also check out CCSVI facebook.

Let's see,
First attempt, just Plavix
Then Pradaxa
Then Warfarin
Currently Arixtra/Fondaparinux

Re: DrSclafani answers some questions
it depends upon where the hypoplasia is. if it is low, it can be bypassed, if it is high, more difficult. if the junction of the sinus and jugular vein are intact, perhaps it will be possible to stent graft if not graft the obstruction.Robnl wrote:Hi doc 'globetrotter' Sclafani ,

there will always be possible solutions, even if our technology is not capable at this time. perhaps regrowth of new vein through the tissue will happen. perhaps an intracranial extracranial bypass.
right now, i tend to do minor dilatation. but it rarely does much long term. When i did major dilatation, nothing good occured.

Re: DrSclafani answers some questions
Dr S have you heard any more from Paulo about the collar and if it will be a commercial 'tool'?
Other question have you been able to advance your understandings of VV's?
Franz Schelling made a comment to me that PwMS do better if they don't move, at all! I like his sense of humour and think that the reflux of the VV's, is, as he says an area that is poorly understood and has much more effect on symptoms than we are currently aware!
Good to see you back, all nice and refreshed, with a belly full of food!

Dear DrSclafani, I suggest you come to Lyon and try "tablier de sapeur".

I have had the "chinese" version. They also do some interesting dishes such as insussuscepted pig colon, cow aorta, steer penis and deer testicles. All edible actually.jean-la-grenouille wrote:Dear DrSclafani, I suggest you come to Lyon and try "tablier de sapeur".

The only thing that has gagged me in china was local tea with warm fresh yak milk topped by dried yak curd. Absolutely the worst in china
but definitely superior to the rats in indonesia
im hungry

To take within, as in telescoping one part of the intestine into another; invaginate.
I can't think of any other being that has motivated me to look up definitions of words ;)
Just saw a fb photo of Brooklyn Park Carousel...sad. Stay safe.

Dr: a shame you were in China and did not loop back by Taiwan; at default to be treated myself I'd have treated you with a great dinner! My friend's restaurant has the bast cellar in town

Was there an angioplasty clearing of the stent in between each attempt?JCB wrote:drsclafani wrote:how are you trying to keep the left jugular from clotting?JCB wrote:Still here, still read the forum a couple times a week, still trying to keep my left jugular from clotting.

I think that in addition to anticoagulation, flow is what keeps a vein from clotting.

Yes, there was angio and cleaning on each of the multple attempts, each time I left the hospital with good flow. Was there an angioplasty clearing of the stent in between each attempt?

I saw what happens on the news, it's terrible and very sad. Wish all a lot of strength to withstand this disaster, a prayer to those who tragically lost their lives
