Body heat with profuse sweating, in an air-conditioned room!

If it's on your mind and it has to do with multiple sclerosis in any way, post it here.

Body heat with profuse sweating, in an air-conditioned room!

Post by itaska21 »

I have had uncontrollable body heat accompanied by profuse sweating for the last two weeks, and the kicker is that I'm in a nice cool air-conditioned room while this is happening. It feels like body heat generated from a sunburn. It's at its worst while I'm at work, nevertheless, it's constant. I've been doing what I can to control break-outs on my chest and back because of it. As I've mentioned before, I'm a Dental Hygienist who works chairside with my patients. I wear scrubs, and of course, my face mask and loupes. This last week my right hand started going numb with the exception of my fingertips in pain and throbbing, which was odd, since I'm left-handed! What is going on here? we're clearly not talking about menopause here. Is anyone else out there having, or have had, these symptoms? what's your advice :?:

As for your heat attacks, I really don't know what to tell you. My husband has been fighting with me over the a/c because in order for the second floor of our house to be cool, the first floor has to be frigid, and we're running up a huge electricity bill in the process.

As for your hands, I'm right handed as well, but most of my MS hand symptoms, at least the worst ones, are in my left hand!

MS can affect the autonomic nervous system which regulates body temperature

I asked Dr Flanagan why I am so hot, especially in my head. Feeling like I have a fever all the time. This is what he said.

"The cause your temperature dysregulation is most likely due to pressure in the third ventricle. My next website page will cover more on the critical structures that make up the third ventricle. Among other things, the third ventricle plays an important role in thermoregulation. I looked into the role of the hypothalamus in thermoregulation, torpor and hibernation decades ago. The cavernous and suboccipital cavernous sinus are also important to the counter-current cooling mechanism of the brain. Venous back pressure and inversion flows in the sinuses can decrease the effectiveness of the cooling system of the brain."
