Motivation/Inspiration

Post by bananana »

Have you guys ever heard of Steve Gleason? He's a bit of a folk hero around here. He's an ex-pro football player (played for the New Orleans Saints) who now has amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), or Lou Gehrig's dissease. He was diagnosed 2 years ago, only a few years after retiring from football. He's now bound to a wheechair, almost completely paralyzed. Yet despite his condition, he is an incredible inspiration. He has raised millions of dollars though his football celebrity for research and for improving the lives of those stricken with ALS and other neuromuscular diseases like MS. He also has an indomitable fighting spirit. He refuses to give in to the illness and instead chooses to live every moment to its fullest. I hope you can find his story inspirational. Here's a few recent articles about him:

This guy is a true hero! Now he's going on a 395 mile bike ride to raise money for injured veterans. Amazing.
