b12 is a very mainstream differential dx item - the reference range is really bad though. if they do test, be prepared for it to come back 'normal' as long as your levels are above 200 pg/ml. the 200 lower cutoff is only associated with hematological criteria ie the size of blood vessels starts to change when values get really low.
meanwhile a much higher bottom end cutoff of 500 pg/mL has been suggested relative to b12 status for cognitive health.
