I have tried various kinds of e-stim units and have learned in my research that they perform a number of different functions, so if you are interested in one I would first become familiar with the applications. You can get them to actually stimulate denervated muscle (someone with partial paralysis could get greater muscle activation), decrease pain, or even accelerate tissue healing after a wound/incision.
