Australian scientists are showing promising results with a new treatment for advanced multiple sclerosis (MS).

It's early days, but it has changed the life of Dr Gary Allen, a 43-year-old academic with secondary progressive MS who agreed to be a guinea pig.

He was given six weeks of treatment, which resulted in a sustained boost of energy, reduced pain and increased productivity at work.

"It's impossible to overstate the improvements," said Dr Allen...... Read More - http://www.ms-uk.org/bacteriaandviruses

"the treatment" – What is the treatment? I assume that the article does not divulge anything about the treatment because researchers are seeking in some way to patent it. If they are not ready to give the whole picture with all its details, I would prefer they delay the whole announcement. I am tired of "breakthroughs" in the news that lead to nothing.

It's cd8+ T cells specific to ebv latent proteins. It kills ebv infected cells. The process for growing the cells is already patented.

Thank you. I found the infomation posted in your earlier thread: http://www.thisisms.com/forum/general-d ... 23331.html

I am not always able to tie together related posts; it would be nice if there were some way to group them under one heading. When I don't have the whole picture, my frustration often gets the better of me.
