pre-gabalin vs gabapentin

Has anyone had BOTH of these drugs and can compare? I have heard that there is a substantial reduction in drug induced fatigue with pregabalin. I have such incredible pain in my legs that I'm on a relatively high dosage of gabapentin, and also gained about 20 pounds during titration to effective dose, despite the fact that I was working VERY physically at the time in a busy ER. We all took turns wearing a pedometer, and we walked an average 11-13 miles a day pushing gurneys to and from exams and rooms in the main hospital. It was grueling, and I wondered why I almost outgrew my scrubs!!

Vanity aside, carrying an extra 20 pounds must add to fatigue.

I'm hoping to speak to my doc about this and see if he'll switch me to pregabalin. If I could reduce fatigue AND cut weight as a bonus that'd be a bonus!
