Someone please help!?!?!
Someone please help!?!?!
I am so scared I am 24 years old and my life has been turned upside down in the past two years. It all started with this overwhelming feeling of not being able to focus and my vision was blurry and hard to focus. It got to the point where I would literally freak out and panic because it was so far from how I have ever felt. I have had naseau and a few other symptoms of ms for more than two years, it was so bad in hs I lost 70 lbs. but back to now I went to the doctor and hospital so many times with seeing halos and blurred vision or dizziness even vertigo in some cases and everytime it was kinda pushed off and made out to be a sinus thing and was put on me meclazine. It persisted for months some days better than others to the point where I couldn't drive anymore. I also have dealt with mood swings for the past few years too and get angry quick and it wasn't me. I also have had so many UTIs and now I have a hard time controlling my bladder. On top of that every few months or so I get horrible restless legs and can't sleep it brings me to tears, and it's a lot more frequent now. My foot became numb on July 8th of this year and it really freaked me out so I went and saw an Oncall doctor because it was so tingly and basically they told me I was fine. Last year I was diagnosed with a rare congenital defect a duplication cyst and it was very big so I tried to attribute symptoms to that and I ended up having surgery and a chest tube and all this stuff and got horners syndrome which the doctors pushed off once my symptoms of it went away and I read online that it can be from damage to the spinal cord from the epidural or a few other things but stemmed from a spinal cord injury causing my whole face Nd throat to go numb and it puts pressure on your ocular nerve which made my vision really bad and my face sag but as I said once my epidural came out slowly it got better. Now I am also getting horrible back and knee and hip pain on and off I get horrible hot flashes and feel like my face is on fire. My muscles tense up everyday sometimes causing me to jump and now my balance is so off I always wore heels and about two weeks ago I tried for the first time in a while and I tripped every 5 seconds, never had those kind of issues and now it's getting worse. I also have been shaking really bad and last week what really topped it off I was trying to do my makeup and I couldn't do it, my left arm felt like I couldn't control it and I was very good w it from doing hair, I got so upset becUae I felt this was getting out of control, and trying to write is seemingly more difficult along with any things with my hands. I am going back to the doctor and not leaving without working towards a diagnosis but I want to know does this sound like ms I have done so much research leading me towards this and I want to know I'm not crazy I guess!

You are NOT crazy! You have very real symptoms and you need to find a GP or internist you trust and respect – someone who is interested in being a "disease detective."
Your symptoms are nonspecific, which means they are common to many conditions and do not point to one definite disease. To your question, "does this sound like MS?" the answer is "yes." But, it also sounds like these many other possibilities suggested by the University of Chicago:
http://peripheralneuropathycenter.uchic ... #bloodtest\
Please note that the first blood test the U of Chicago suggests is for vitamin B12. Your symptoms are consistent with a B12 deficiency; I also think this is the place to start. If one of your doctors has not screened for this, take a written list of your symptoms to your GP and ask for initial B12 testing, which should include #1 a serum B12 test, #2 a serum folate test, #3 a serum homocysteine test, and #4 a serum (or urinary – considered to be more accurate by many experts) methylmalonic acid test.Blood tests
Blood tests are commonly employed to check for vitamin deficiencies, toxic elements and evidence of an abnormal immune response.
Depending on your individual situation, your doctor may request certain laboratory tests to identify potentially treatable causes for neuropathy. These include tests for:
Vitamin B12 and folate levels
Thyroid, liver and kidney functions
Vasculitis evaluation
Oral glucose tolerance test
Antibodies to nerve components (e.g., anti-MAG antibody)
Antibodies related to celiac disease
Lyme disease
HIV/AIDS
Hepatitis C and B
There have been several malpractice cases won (for several million dollars each!) when doctors did not look for vitamin B 12 deficiencies and patients went on to develop irreversible neurologic damage. Anyone at any age can develop a B12 deficiency. If this is found to be your problem, a B12 deficiency is easily and inexpensively treated. The cause of MS is unknown; in my opinion, there is no effective treatment for MS.
MS is a diagnosis of exclusion; other more likely causes for your symptoms have to be ruled out first. We wish you all the best; let us know how your journey to a diagnosis goes.
Re: Someone please help!?!?!
Thank you very much for your reply my amazing internist today listened and did a basic neurological exam which I failed w flying colors as my tremor made it difficult to preform some of the things asked and my reflexes I guess were very hypersensitive so she ordered a crap load of bloodwork tomm and I am seeing an ophthalmic doctor to check my eyes for something related to ms I was a little upset so I don't remember what and she scheduled me with a nuerologist and ordered an MRI of the brain with and without contrast so I pray that it doesn't take forever for some answers so I can start to deal with whatever the diagnosis is and try and carry on a somewhat normal life now. I am not sure if the eye doctor will be able to give me any sort of direction tommorow but I hope they can I will post once I know more thanks so much for the support I don't really know anyone to turn to and being a mom I Am trying to stop the worrying and focus on that blessing.

Re: Someone please help!?!?!
I'm in the same boat as you. I tremor alot! And they have yet to figure out what is wrong with me. But thankfully my neuro is sending me to another neuro for a 2nd opinion. So fingers are crossed for both of us!
