I tried to puruse this treatment some time ago by Richard Burt at Northwestern, but we were refused because my husband has progressive multiple sclerosis and too many medical comorbidities. It is definitely effective in inflammatory relapsing multiple sclerosis, but it carries significant risk. It may be worth looking into if you have aggressive relapsing multiple sclerosis, and standard treatments are not working for you. Of course, there is significant risk of infection, bleeding, infertility, and depending on which agents they you, hemorrhagic cystitis, bladder cancer, and future cancers. It is the immunosuppression which produces the clinical effect, not the "stem cells." The stem cells are simply a rescue treatment to decrease the risk of complications. The stem cells do not grow new nerve tissue. The technology to do this does not exist [yet].
