I have severe weakness in my hip flexor muscles. I cannot raise my leg from a standing or sitting position, not because it hurts, but because it simply will not go any higher. As you can imagine, this makes it difficult to walk. The strange thing is that this weakness somewhat improves after long periods of rest. I have a greater (but not normal) range of motion in the morning, but loose it as the day goes on or as I do repeated movement of the hip flexors. It is as if my leg gets heavier and heavier the more I try to move it until I can't move it at all.
So I guess my question is: Do any of you experience weakness or paresis that follows this pattern, or is it constant?
Thank you for reading.
Does anyone have weakness/paresis from repeated movement?

Welcome to ThisIsMS. Your symptoms sound like fatigue. Several years ago I shoveled the snow off my driveway. By the time I was done, I could barely stand and had to rest for a minute or two sitting on the bumper of my car. After resting for an hour or two inside I could then function somewhat normally.

Thank you for your reply, it helps me to understand why my doctors are considering MS.

Fatigue is a fairly common symptom and is associated with several conditions. It does not rule any particular diagnosis in or out.vera26 wrote:Thank you for your reply, it helps me to understand why my doctors are considering MS.
