From what I have read...Igenex lab in CA has the most accurate Lyme testing. There are a 100 different strains of Lyme. Quest and lab corp doesn't test against that many strains. So what happens if you have a strain that quest or lab corp doesnt test for...you have a false negative!

I have a great idea for a business. Just invent a lyme disease test that is always positive (100% sensitivity, <1% specificity) and charge $1,000 for it. It will undoubtedly gain popularity because people will always get the result they desire. Who wants to be tested for lyme and receive a disappointing "negative" or "indeterminate" result? Nobody! The test will be perceived as an "accurate" test that "picks up cases which other more primitive tests miss." We can market it as "testing for more strains" and so forth.
