Hi,
I am close to my doctor ruling out other conditions, as I will undergo LP later today. I was wondering if several of you could let me know your experience with relapses. Can you describe what it's like? When do new symptoms appear typically? Is it when you wake in the morning that you notice something new and weird, or can it appear anytime? Thanks for your input!
When do new symptoms from relapses usually occur?

It is different for everyone. It is even different for each single person from time to time.
Everything is a a variable when talking about symptoms with MS.

The first neurologist I saw put it this way:
If a new symptom pops up and lasts for more that a day - make a note of it.
If it lasts for more than a week - get on the phone.
The underlying assumption is that a symptom that lasts for more than a week indicates a relapse.
My relapses have always been extreme fatigue, and I know one neurologist who always looks for more than fatigue - he expects a visible neurological symptom as well.
Just remember that with MS, "your gas mileage may vary".
